Interesting idea - if it reset everything you could unlock all skills on a character much easier. If I hadn't bought 2 copies I'd be all over this

No... bad.
It would unbalance everything that was meant for low levels.
I'd rather not see a level 1 with all the elites.
People already abuse the low level arenas already.

Yes, it is bad.
Everything would become unbalanced.
New players can't get into groups? Because no player wants them.
I can see it now. "Forming group for Northen Wall, must have all elites."
I don't mind the idea of players being able to change their profession, this idea needs to be reconsidered.

you wouldn't be able to use any of those elite unless they took up their old primary as their new secondary

That doesn't change the fact that you can still use an elite.
No level 1 player should an elite. Are you stupid or something?

I'm just pointing out a flaw. This is a good idea, it just needs work.
You don't have to get all up in arms just because you don't like me.

My thoughts on you are irrelevant, what's pissing me off about you is
the fact that you post snipe everyone else's comments and tell them
they're wrong and you're right. In your threads, and these.
Lose the arrogance.

Wait a minute...
Everyone else can have an opinion, but I can't?
Let me quote you some more.

You're gonna need a better reason than 'just because' on this
one. Making new armors/skins/etc takes time, money, and effort
on the part of ANet. Time that could be spent on working
on Chapter 2. So make a choice, new armor, or new everything.

You need to get off your power trip and stop being a hypocrite. You can't say let a person have an idea then so around and shut down anothers.
I think you need to stop and look at yourself. You are making yourself look stupid. And just for your information, if you're wrong and I'm right, I'm going to say so and you won't stop me.

So basically I create my level 1 character with all of the elites and skills I've unlocked before, thus making the ascalon arenas more of a pain?

Here's an easy fix, just restrict the 'reincarnated' player characters from participating in the lowbies arenas.
Issue solved.
Cheers.
EDIT:
/signed for the idea
SUGGEST:
The quest could be given by Glint, or any other super powerful mage, something like an option to go back in time.
About the previously earned experience points, it will be 'locked' until the player character have ascended.
So the 'reincarnated' character will start offf with 0 experience points, but will retain all the previously earned experience points when ascended.

Or you switch back to being L20. Although if you did that youd have to 'remember' the equipment that character had before it changed profession, and I imagine that'd take up quite a lot of space... up to six times as much space, in fact.

Seems simple to me.
Allow character to begin with normal skills earned from previous adventuring:
1. Skills costing 10 pts open at 2nd level.
2. Skills costing 15 pts open at 4th level.
3. Skills costing 20 pts open at 6th level.
4. Skills costing 25 pts open at 8th level.
5. Experience is halved when not adventuring with "NUG."
6. One Elite Skill opens at 9th level.
7. Second Elite Skill opens at 14th level.
8. Remaining Elite Skills open at 20th level.

Or restrict Elites from the low-level arenas, which is something people have asked for already.

Ideally you'd have 6 or 7 character slots, but lacking that this is a reasonable alternative

i have found in other games you end up filling all your slots even if you have 8. also, if Anet creates 2 new professions in chapter 2 and gives us 1 or 2 new character slots then we are in essentially the same situation we are in now. having to delete a lvl 20 or buy yet another account. i have 2 already as well.
as far as unbalancing the game, to be honest i don't really understand this argument. a lvl 20 can take a group through all the quests and mission post-searing or run you past them. how would a low lvl with limited attribute points to distribute regardless of the skills be less balanced than that?
